When I went onto the website and entered my personal code, I was given a message that said the code was invalid. What do I do?

There are two possibilities here. First, go back to strengthsfinder.com and click on the link for ver. 1. From there, your steps should become apparent. If you try the version 1 link and still are given an error message, please call the Marci in the Parish Office at 683-7100.

I’ve seen name tags with the top five talents. How do I get my nametag?

All who have done StrengthsFinder are encouraged to email their Top 5 to marci@stmargaretofyork.org. Once we receive your Top 5, your list of signature themes will be entered into our parishioner strengths list binder which will be kept in church. Nametags, are encouraged during SMOY meetings/gatherings, and are kept in a box on the counter behind the reception desk.

Why the need for a book for each person?

There are two reasons why each person needs his or her own book. One is that the book is intended to be a workbook, one in which you underline, highlight, and write notes. The other is that since we are getting the books at such a reduced cost ($18 for a book that retails for $24.95), even if we could just purchase code numbers, the cost would be the same as purchasing a separate book for each person.

I hear there are different books for youth?

Yes, there are special applications for different ages. We use StrengthsSpotlight with our Confirmation Candidates. We offer StrengthsQuest for our High School and college aged students. We offer StrengthsFinder through the Living Your Strengths book for adults. We do not have a process in place for younger students.

I didn’t sign up for a small group, but now wish to explore my strengths with others. May I still join a small group?

If you are available and willing to do the small group process, all you need to do is sign up online at the SMOY website or come the day/evening of the first meeting. We will be grateful for your participation! In preparation for the small group session, please read about your Top 5 signature themes. That will best prepare you for our group time together.
