Server Responsibilities

Arrive 20 minutes early for Mass.
Check-in with altar set-up person in Fr. Roettelle room.
Put on alb, cinture and good shoes (if necessary).
Check with deacon and/or priest to see what needs to be done.
Light candles five minutes before Mass.
If there is nothing needed, please stand near the baptismal font/candles and cross, so you can be easily found if needed.
When processing in, do not stop at altar-candle bearers put candles on holder by both going to right and behind the holders, cross bearer put cross back, captain (if present) proceed to front pew. When walking to pew after putting candles away, be mindful of the priest and deacon so you do not walk in front of them. Cross bearer walk behind the presider chair to the front pew.
At the end of the sung Gloria (or spoken Lord Have Mercy if Gloria is not sung), crossbearer picks up Sacramentary. When the priest says "Let us pray", move in front of the priest to hold the book.

At Offertory, if there are 3 servers:

Take Sacramentary to deacon or priest and then go to credence table and get silver bowl, silver pitcher and towel for hand washing. Stand to left of altar. When priest turns to wash hands, step up to the priest. After handwashing, place items on credence table and go to front pew	Take tray with chalices from credence table to deacon or priest. Then stand to the right of the altar to wait for the empty wine pitcher. Take the empty wine pitcher to the credence table and then go to the front pew.	Take glass water pitcher and one purificator from credence table to deacon or priest. Stand to the right of the altar. After the gifts are brought down and water is added to the wine, take the pitcher back and place it on the credence table. Go to help crossbearer with handwashing, stepping up to the priest when he turns. After handwashing, place items on credence table and go to front pew.
