SMOYFEST

The SMOY Festival is the largest fund-raiser contributing to the parish general fund. One of the festival’s primary objectives is to bring the Parish Family together and to have FUN! It runs the second weekend in August, Friday through Sunday evenings. The festival features over 50 booths with food, beverages, games, rides, and entertainment. Planning for this major event begins a year in advance primarily with the chairperson and co-chairperson meeting monthly. The major committee chairpersons meet 2-3 times a year, working independently on their various duties. Booth chairpersons meet at a general meeting one month before the festival and are responsible for the operation of the booth including recruiting people to work shifts throughout the weekend. Many volunteers are needed to work the two hour shifts for each booth throughout the hours of festival operation. This weekend offers lots of fun and excitement for parishioners and for the festival workers!
